Yarn Wrapped Letters

This project is super easy,
I completed it in one evening, while we sat and watched How I met your Mother.

This would be a cute project to do in a nursery with an entire name, but I just chose to do a single letter for our master bedroom.  While I love, love, love, the prints you get on fabric and paper, there is also something to be said for the simplicity and organic nature of yarn.

To complete this project I used:
Yarn
Hot Glue
Scissors
Chipboard cut letter (can use anything you find for cheap)
Picture hanger (not pictured)

Put a dab of hot glue in the back and start wrapping.

I chose to start in the middle, that way I could work towards the end, rather start at it.

When wrapping, wrap snugly so it doesn't come loose.

The corners are kind of a pain but just go slow and keep wrapping until you're happy with the look, mine had to overlap, but if I could have avoided it, I probably would have tried too.

Finish off with hot glue.  I wrapped the ends as well, but it would have been cool to cut a tiny piece of scrapbook paper and attach that on the ends.

I put a picture hanger on the back, and hung it up!  That simple!  Using some things I had on hand, there was very little to buy.  Total I spend $2.27 on this project!

I love the turn out!  Goes perfect with our wedding pictures and the yarn wrapped wire gift I made the husband for Christmas!
