When you are a cloth diapering family like we are (mostly) then it really makes a ton of sense to also use cloth wipes.
I'll admit at first this idea seemed a little out-there to me, but we used them with miss Bear and they made a ton of sense, so I just made some for miss Nanners.
Think about it, you can just roll the wipe up in the diaper and toss it all in the wash together! Skip the trash entirely!
Start with some flannel, pre-washed. I used some leftovers from previous projects. These prints all made some cute burp cloth for friends over the last few years, but I hung onto the scraps, and now found the use! (I knew I hung onto them for a reason)
Cut the flannel to 4 in x 8 in (this size fits perfect in a wipes container)
Surge or zig zag stitch all the way around the wipe.
Sides with the factory edge I left alone, they won't fray like the rest will.
That's it!
Here's a great wipe solution recipe you can use after you get zig zagging that flannel!

Cloth wipes are definitely essential to cloth diapering. Andy for some reason refuses to use the cloth wipes so then I have to go back in and pick out the disposable wipes....so not fun. I think I need to hide the disposable wipes. :)
ReplyDeleteTotally need to hide them :)
